The MetaChecker blog covers practical SEO - meta tags, content quality, GEO, and E-E-A-T. Written for people who actually do the work.
What is a meta checker?
A meta checker is a tool that analyses the meta tags on a web page - primarily the meta title and meta description - and checks whether they are the right length, well-written, and likely to perform well in Google search results. MetaChecker does this and more, including live SERP previews, URL analysis, GEO content scoring, and E-E-A-T assessment.
Is MetaChecker really free?
Yes, completely free. There is no account to create, no trial period, and no paid tier. Every tool on this platform is free to use as many times as you like, for any website, forever.
Do you store the content or URLs I enter?
No. All tools run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type, paste, or fetch is sent to MetaChecker's servers because there are no servers involved. Your data stays on your device.
Why does MetaChecker measure pixels instead of characters?
Google does not use character count to decide where to truncate meta titles and descriptions - it measures the rendered pixel width of the text. A title with wide letters like W and M gets cut off sooner than one using narrow letters like i and l. MetaChecker uses the browser Canvas API to measure pixel width directly, giving you an accurate result instead of a rough estimate.
Who is MetaChecker for?
MetaChecker is for anyone who works with SEO - in-house SEOs, freelancers, agency teams, content writers, developers, and WordPress site owners. The tools are deliberately simple to use without needing a technical background, but accurate enough to be useful to experienced SEOs.
What is GEO and why does it matter?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimisation - the practice of writing content so that AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are more likely to cite it in their responses. As more searches produce AI-generated answers rather than traditional results pages, GEO is becoming as important as traditional SEO. The GEO Content Checker scores your content out of 100 for citability.
